Overland Kennels was built in the fall of 1993 and is a full service facility offering dog and cat boarding, all-breed grooming, and Eagle Pack Premium pet food. We also provide a full line of pet supplies. It is located five miles from exit 7 of the PA Turnpike and Route 30, off of the Guffey Rillton Road. Nestled in a quiet country setting we strive to provide the very best care for your pet.
As members of the American Boarding Kennels Association, we maintain our pet facility with the utmost concern to the highest standards of sanitation, nutrition, and quality care of your pet. In addition our winning combination of exercise and love, provide your pet with a healthy, stress reduced environment, each time he or she stays with us. Our modern new building offers the perfect worry-free location for your pet when you are away from home. Spacious indoor/outdoor runs are provided, allowing the dogs to go either outside or remain inside. Abundant natural light in our kennel building makes a bright and cheery atmosphere for your animal.
Boarding
The canine housing area is what is referred to as an indoor/outdoor facility with large, spacious runs for each dog. Our open kennel design reduces stress in your dog during boarding. The dogs are able to see each other and frequently play with each other during their stay.
Each dog (or family of dogs boarding together) has his or her own individual compartment which leads directly by way of sliding door to his or her own outdoor run. The interior is constructed to maximize daily cleaning for optimum sanitation. The kennel has in-floor radiant heat, which provides a warmer environment for your pet. The kennel area is provided with natural sunlight via six skylights located in the roof. In addition to the skylights, there are ten large windows which provide plenty of light and fresh air A modern ventilation system continuously circulates the kennel every two or three minutes. Overland Kennels also has a Security and Fire system that is monitored 24 hours a day, to further insure the safety of your animals.
For our feline visitors we maintain a completely separate area with individual compartments for security and privacy. Here the cats can watch the activities of the kennel kitchen, while remaining free of the calamity of our canine companions.
We provide all the necessities for your boarding pet in the way of food and bedding. We suggest that family members may want to bring an old blanket or toy with your scent on it for your pet to keep with him. Customer may bring their own food if they prefer but the board rate remains the same. Cookie breaks are provided daily!
Early reservations are strongly advised, especially during holiday periods and the entire summer. Overland accommodates 20 pets, and we pride ourselves on the individual care and one to one attention that each animal receives during its visit.

Boarding Policy:
Office is open to receive or release pets from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 4 p.m to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Sunday hours are 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Kennel is closed on holidays. Pets picked up by 12:00 noon will not be charged for that day. The rates are from time of check-in to 12:00 noon the following day. Boarding and grooming charges will be paid when the pet is picked up.
Boarding Requirements:
Owner must have written proof that all of the pets inoculations are current for the following:
Dogs: Distemper (DA2PL/CPV) or equivalent every two years, Bordetella vaccination (Kennel cough) every two years, Rabies every three years.
Cats: Annual distemper (pan., rhino., calici virus), Rabies every two years, Leukemia vaccination recommended every two years.
Pets should receive vaccinations at least 10 days before time of admission to the kennel to be fully effective. All pets must be free of infectious disease such as canine cough or upper respiratory infection upon admittance. All pets must be free of external parasites - FLEAS. Any pet admitted with fleas will be treated for fleas at an additional charge to the owner

Rates:
Call or e-mail us for current rates. Discount available on tong term boarding (over 15 days). All fees include the day the pet is checked in and a full day's rate after 12:00 noon on the day of pickup.
Grooming:
Overland provides all breed dog and cat grooming. We promote a stress free grooming experience for your dog and cat, and specialize in puppy grooming. We recommend and encourage year-round regular grooming to keep your pet's coat manageable, healthy and pest free. We use "pesticide free" espree organic shampoos.
Every grooming includes: Nail clipping ,ear cleaning, brush-out or clipping, bath, blow drying, and finishing trim work.
Special services available:
Dematting, special breed clips, scissor clips, medicated shampoos, flea and tick treatments
Groomings are done by appointment Monday through Saturday Rates are based on breed, special bath or clip requested and the condition of your pet's coat.
Pet Supplies:
We offer sales of Eagle brand professional dog food, as well as a quality array of shampoos, dog biscuits, grooming supplies, toys, leashes, and collars. As a special service to our customers we provide a selection of free literature and pamphlets.

From Route 30 turn at the Norwin Hills shopping center, go through stop sign to next stop sign and turn right onto Barnes' Lake Road. Go 2-3 miles to red light at Dutch Pavlik's meat market and turn left onto Clay Pike. Go 1/2 mile and turn right onto Broker's Lane. Go to stop sign and turn left onto Guffey Rillton Road. Turn right onto Overland Drive, at top of the hill turn right. We are at 510 Overland Drive on the right side.
